For students
Messages from Hiroki Wadati.
All the students interested in condensed-matter physics are welcome, and especially the following types of students will be suitable for our lab.
1. Students who are interested in various types of materials.
2. Students who are interested in experimental instruments. (There are various instruments in optical condensed matter physics.)
3. Students who are also interested in theoretical analyses of experimental data. (Optical data are usually challenging to understand, and it is necessary to perform theoretical analyses.)
4. Students who like traveling. (You will need to travel to domestic and overseas laser and synchrotron radiation facilities.)
Lab policies.
1. Group seminars will be held once a week. (Research presentations, literature introductions, and reading sessions.)
2. For those who want to do only graduation research (= not go on to our graduate school), I plan to ask them to do a research topic for their graduation thesis. Serious research is expected to take more than a year.
3. There is no core time, but I think it is natural to do research every weekday. If there is a reason that you need to be absent regularly on weekdays, please let me know in advance.
